Saxcraft was founded in 2009 by me, Pieter van Kessel. It once started out as a hobby of selling vintage saxophones, but the hobby has gotten out of hand. In the years past I expanded my in depth knowledge of the saxophone and its’ mechanism and have repaired and revised many. One thing led to another and I developed the Saxcraft Ligature. With great joy I’m still daily working with this beautiful instrument. To me the most important aspect is; customization.
The Saxcraft Ligature is developed especially for optimum use of the reed and tone. Lots of well-known saxophone players already agree.
Customers should go home with the right saxophone for their needs. That’s why it’s possible to come and try out the diverse assortment of saxophones at the Saxcraft workspace. You can do so without any hurry while enjoying a cup of coffee. The same goes for the Saxcraft Ligature, which is custom-made for multiple mouthpieces, from clarinet to bass-saxophone. The assortment of vintage saxophones consists mostly of The Martin, Buescher, Conn and King.
